Zoom-a-zoom-zoooom

Every year for my birthday since we moved back to KY from San Diego we have been going down to Lake Cumberland and watching the Poker Run. A Poker Run is a race that is not really a race. Boats from all over the US come to Lake Cumberland on this particular weekend and go to five docks on the lake in the span of about four hours. At each of the dock there is someone (usually a hottie in a bikini, of course) handing out playing cards, one per boat. Then when the boats all get back to the main dock, State Dock, then the compare hands and whoever has the best hand wins. Simple really. So you can see that the fastest boat is not the one that wins, but that doesn’t stop the testosterone-nitro-injected from strutting their stuff. Some of these boats go up to 150 miles an hour (and some come limping back on one engine because something broke)!
As I am sure you can imagine, it’s really choppy on the water with all the boats that are participating and all the boats that are watching. My wife won’t some out to watch for fear of getting seasick (in fact, this year Savannanh was the one that “lost it over the side”).
It was really overcast this year so the pictures aren’t the greatest, but we still had a great time.
